**What Smart Agriculture Means in Nepal's Context**
NepTech's approach focuses on solutions that work on small plots (under 1 hectare), are locally maintainable without specialized technicians, use low-cost IoT sensors compatible with basic mobile connectivity, and deliver ROI within one agricultural season.
**The Aquaponics Living Laboratory**
One of NepTech's flagship facilities is our Aquaponics Living Laboratory — integrating fish farming, hydroponic vegetable cultivation, IoT monitoring, and data analytics in a single system.
We have completed two research cycles demonstrating yields of tilapia and leafy vegetables with 80% less water consumption compared to conventional soil farming. Results are being prepared for publication.
**The Path Forward**
Nepal has committed to food security as a national priority. Smart agricultural technology is central to achieving it. NepTech is building the training infrastructure, the research evidence, and the industry partnerships to accelerate that transition.
